I started Frame Imperfect as a way to apply all the fancy SEO, copywriting and problem-solving skills that you pick up as you turn the wheel of a career to something I was passionate about.

I am engaging with games of all kinds, all the time, so organising and dispensing that information of those internal debates became a way to help myself work through things, while also informing and educating others.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of assuming everyone is on the same page as you, that just because I see Hollow Knight as a worldwide phenomenon that all gamers know about, so does everyone. It’s easy to forget that the largest games of our time are still AAA, yearly releases and the most casual of gamers won’t have heard of even the largest Indie titles.

That’s the logic behind making Frame Imperfect as readable as possible, without needing a lifetime of industry engagement or even having played any games at all. Not everyone can do frame perfect inputs, but Frame Imperfect is here to help everyone understand the key events of the industry, the key releases, features, soundtracks and levels from games spanning 1972 to present.

The nitty gritty: I’m a Philosophy graduate, I’ve worked on phonelines with customers and I’ve worked in education, I’ve worked freelance and I’ve worked in permanent copywriter roles.
